We were overwhelmed by the support for Galentine's Day 2024. Once again, our wonderful community came together to uplift local female business owners and raise money to help women in need in Clallam County.
But Galentine's Day is much more than a party. The fact is, that domestic violence is pervasive and life shattering. 1 in 3 women have experienced violence by an intimate partner, and 1 in 7 have been injured by an intimate partner (according to the National Coalition Against Domestic Violence). Every Day, United Way of Clallam County raises money to support nonprofit groups that provide critical services to people fleeing domestic violence in our community. This event is dedicated not only to raising these funds, but also awareness, and is a reminder that none of us is alone when it comes to this heartbreaking issue.

See How Galentine's Day Has Grown
The first iteration of Galentine's Day took place in 2022 and, with certain COVID restrictions still in place, we kept the gathering to only 75 people. Last year, we booked the Elks Naval Lodge in Port Angeles and raised the number of tickets to 200. Because of the incredible demand, we issued an additional 25 tickets for people who wanted to attend despite not receiving a swag bag. In 2024, we decided to shoot for 250 and we STILL sold out!
Your feedback has helped us continue to improve Galentine's Day, making it better not only for our guests but for our sponsors, our local female entrepreneurs, and - most important - women in need in Clallam County.
