HIKE UNITED 2024 RECAP

HIKE UNITED 2024 was better than ever! Our hikers met weekly challenges, explored new trails, and raised more money than ever for our community. A huge part of that fundraising effort was on behalf of our three incredible Trailblazers: Kristin DeCou, Bobbi Fabellano, and Kate Teefy. We are so grateful to them for piloting the peer-to-peer fundraising system and we hope to offer it more widely soon!

Thank you to everyone who supported this campaign, whether you were a participant, donor, event sponsor, or prize donor. We couldn't have done this without you.

Total Funds Raised: $7,291

Trailblazer Funds Raised: $2,269

Medals and Hosted Hikes

This year, we offered our hikers five weekly challenges during the course of the hike-a-thon. These challenges were scalable for hikers of all ability and interest levels, and we offered kid challenges for our littlest hikers. Participants who completed all five weekly challenges received an official HIKE UNITED medal and were entered to win our grand prize! We're sending a huge congratulations to Mike Nel who won a private 7 - 9 hour guided hiking tour for four in Olympic National Park, donated by Olympic Hiking Co! The hiking package includes roundtrip transportation, park fees, picnic lunches, and a local hiking guide.

Going the Extra Mile

Some of our hikers asked for a bigger challenge this year, so we developed the Go the Extra Mile competition. By tracking their number of hikes, total miles, and/or total elevation, these hikers competed to win one of three awesome prize packages donated by local businesses.

Sponsors

Our sponsors are a huge part of what makes campaigns like HIKE UNITED successful. The support from these incredible businesses shows that they care about more than their bottom line. They are helping to make a real difference in the lives of the most vulnerable members of our community. Thank you, sponsors!!!
