General overview and introduction.
"United Way is a lighthouse for what's happening in our community."
Wendy Bart
CEO, YMCA of the Olympic Peninsula
The seed of what would become Clallam Mosaic was planted in 1998, when 4 sets of parents gathered to consider what they would do when their children graduated from the special education programs offered by Sequim High School. With no prospects for higher education or jobs in the community, these parents launched a weekly "Rec Club," which continues to this day.
"Our partnership with United Way provided with the funding so that we could bring in folks who could do this programming, who could make a difference... Having United Way be our partner, providing us with the funding so that we could do those kinds of classes."
-Bonnie Smith
Clallam Mosaic Board President
"The Impact Funding was just a gift beyond belief. We had looked at this building that we're in about 10 years ago. There was no way. We were not ready. We could not do it. And through the impact grant from Untied Way, we now that this incredible space and a downtown presence."

"With the Impact Grant, United Way chose us for the work we're doing in the community. It's going to be a huge help."
"One of the things I think that is really great about the United Way is it tackles a lot of the issues we have in our community. I focus on our seniors, but I do care about the other things, the kids, literacy, healthy families. And I know that by supporting United Way, I'm also supporting those causes."
